As we enter the fourth week of school closure due to COVID-19, I want to thank all teachers who are continuing to do what they do best to educate students. While the news yesterday that school would not reconvene this year was sad, I know you will continue to do what is best for all students. I wanted to give a special shout out to those who I consider to be the best staff in Madison County, the educators and support staff of Madison CUSD #12. You have transitioned from traditional instruction to remote learning in matter of weeks and are adapting to meet the needs of our students. A special thanks to our custodial staff who have worked tirelessly to sanitize buildings and to our food service staff, bus drivers, and security team who are providing breakfast and lunch to 450 students a day. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done and will continue to do for our students, families and communities!
